![]() To be successful you have to keep the deal alive! Which deal? The deal between you and the organization. Sure, this is a value, but to be successful it is not enough. The world is full of people that work hard. People will not be appraised because they are good, neither because they are hard workers. Quite presumptuous, isn’t it? I feel compassion and I really understand this concern, as I lived it too, meanwhile, I also see the dark side of it, the trap. Finally, falling down in what I call the job trap: they spent most of their lifetime working for organizations that, in their opinion, did not award them for their job. I’ve seen a lot of people working hard, very hard, and getting older and out of the game, despite their competences and their experience. Do not ask for whom the bell is ringing, it is ringing for you! ![]() And take the courage to evolve and even go away if your work is no longer required. Tell to the world you are working hard and more importantly tell to the world what you can do for it. Just remove the silence from working hard. My answer is: yes, the motto is still valid, work hard and let success make the noise. I can try to answer to this question, based on my direct and observational experience. Successful babyboomers worked hard, for sure,…apparently in silence, apparently.īut? What about the generation X? And what about the millennials?Is this motto still valid or there is something we miss? Most of my generation have grown with the myth passed by the previous one: work hard, let success make noise. What set apart those who achieve the peak of the mountain and those who did not? In addition: are the differential factors changed as the time goes way, or are still the same?
